PPR RBs to Keep an Eye On

lesean-mccoyLeSean McCoy – with Westbrook not returning and a new QB taking the helm, McCoy could burst onto the scene in 2010.  McCoy had 40 receptions for 308 yards in his rookie season.    I’m thinking he’s this year’s Ray Rice with slightly less rushing yards.  McCoy has 70 catch potential.  He’ll most likely go in somewhere in the 2-4 round range.  One major fantasy website has him as the #17 RB.  He’s the guy I’m thinking you can draft in the 3rd round that has a chance to be a top 10 fantasy RB.

Darren McFadden – he has never reached his potential.  I’ve always thought he was a “boom or bust” type player.  I’m leaning more towards the “boom” side this season.  The Raiders got better with the addition of Jason Campbell.  By my count, Campbell threw to RB’s 85 times for 821 yards and 4 TD’s in 2009.  And he did it throwing to Quinton Ganther, Rock Cartwright (now in Oakland) and Mike Sellers.  None of these guys catch it like McFadden.  They also don’t have his after the catch abilities.  I’ve seen 2 major websites fantasy projections and McFadden was out of the top 40 RB’s in both.  He could be this year’s “lightning in a bottle”.

Reggie Bush – he had 47 catches for 335 yards and 3 TD’s last season. If he stays healthy he could reach 60+ catches this season.  He’s obviously a bit one dimensional, but he plays for the Saints.  I like his upside this year.  I’d be willing to gamble on 55-65 catches, 800-900 total yards and at least a handful of TD’s.  I’m drafting him ahead of guys like L.T., Thomas Jones & Clinton Portis…. All Out Blitz: Mock Style

alloutblitzmockWith the 2010 NFL Draft just 24 hours away we’re going to dedicate this column into trying to predict what each team will do in the draft.

Now, I’m not someone who is big into college players so I’m going to talk more about position needs than specific players, but I will make an educated guess. Here we go.

1. St. Louis Rams: Not surprisingly for a team with the first overall pick, the Rams have needs at quite a few positions, including the most important one, quarterback. Now I may not be a college football fan, but I know that Sam Bradford is the number one QB coming out of college and with the NFL being a quarterback driven league this has to be the pick here…. 2010 Old-Timer Team

2010oldtimerDon’t sleep on team grandpa for 2010 when it comes to drafting this year.

Here are seven players that make my “All Old-Timer Team” for 2010.  I would only recommend grabbing these old men in a redraft league and if they fall late in your dynasty league.  Here is an entire team of old guys for your 2010 season.

Donovan McNabb – he won’t have as many weapons in Washington but he will be lighting Santana Moss as well as Chris Cooley up for 2010.  He is a good bet for over 3000+ yards and over 20+ TD’s as well as a couple Campbell Soup commercials…. [Read More]

Underrated, or Just Plain Sucks?

Jason Campbell is not “the Man,” but to listen to many people, from the bitter whining of frustrated Redskin fans to the pedantic hyperbole of various talking heads, one would be left with the impression that he may well be the worst person to ever play the game – at any level.

He’s not.

In fact, not only is he not the worst to ever play, he’s so dramatically underrated that Donovan McNabb, while an upgrade, will not be all that much of one. There’s more to a team than one player, no matter how trendy it may be to rip apart a particular guy.
